POHL>)Force SAR Hornet XL FINAL edition going fast!!
POHL>)Force /SAR Hornet XL the final addition. Here is the description from Pohl Force.
"The Hornet XL was our very FIRST knife; this is where the Pohl Force story began. The characteristic Spencer A. Reiter design matches perfectly with the significant name, well known within the knife world. The name for this knife may seem unusual as it was only later that we began to name our models after the NATO alphabet."
I am always humbled by the knowledge that Dietmar chose this design out 100's if not thousands of knife makers and design's he knew at the time. I swell with huge pride knowing that POHL Force is a rock solid and highly successful international knife company and continuing to expand.
When we started this project Dietmar promised a knife from every run we did almost every knife he sent is the serial number #001 and I also have the pre-production proto-type. Also laying there is the very first Hornet XL that I built. Currently I am waiting for both versions of the final edition and the set will be finished and maybe I can get some exposure for us in one of the top knife mags. I am however sad that the run is over but I can always hope and strive to work with my friend again.
Dietmar is meticulous, kind and a man of honor. To anyone that may get the opportunity to work with him I would tell you that it could possibly be the most enjoyable, hassle free and highly successful collaboration you could enter into.
So with that being said THIS IS THE LAST RUN. One of my buddies has received his Final Edition Hornet XL, I got to look at it yesterday. I know this is biases and you can take it for what it worth. I do know what quality looks like in a knife and he has gone above and beyond what you will might expect in a production knife at this price. From steel to zippered pouch no corners have been cut.
If you are here in the states you can follow this link directly to his POHL>)Force U.S.A. division which is the exclusive distributor for PF products. POHL>)Force U.S.A. division, In Europe go here POHL>)Force Europe division and HQ and his facebook page to follow his progress to the top! POHL>)Force Facebook feed
Here are some good reviews from the past that are pretty good. These are some of the previous editions that are no longer in production

Momentary Dyas
For some unknown reason I have built these knives and they form what the Spartans call a Dyas (Duo). Although they were paired in conception they will follow two different yet parallel paths to Afghanistan!
So two post in one day I must be sick...ha ha
The recurve is already in the hands of a young 2LT scout platoon leader on his way to well you know where. He lives down the street and found out I build knives and asked me to build him one. I find no greater honor than doing exactly that.
This is based on the S/E (Survive/Escape) design minus the leg rig, signal device and firestarter.
Specs:
CPMS30V HRc 60-61
10" OAL 5" handle 5" hollow ground blade.
Hand finished coyote brown fine texture handle with steel fastners.
Kydex sheath x 2.
Thanks

Been waiting to do a big update
Ha ha,
I kept telling myself that I would re-start the blog with a big update, but that just leads to more procrastination. So I am just gonna dive in need not explain where I have been the last year as its not important. Currently kicking ass in the shop on a daily basis is what matters!
I have a really good friend and business partner John Hurth of TYR' Group LLC. John is always "switched on" and ready to go. We recently finished up a project that was both fun and has proven a successful endeavor.
Last year John asked me to build a Mjolnir so I instantly went to google figured out what it was and got to designing. After a few drawings we decided on the follow one for the first custom run. Here is Johns description off the his website.
"
The first run was made in 440c each one is 100% hand made and each one is uniquely different. We ended up with around 30 for sale and they have been moving fast. I have some pictures from the build and will provide a link to the Mjolnir for purchase on Johns site. We have already started to develop the next run and have decided to keep exploring new designs until we hit it out of the park!

"
The TÝR Group Mjölnir is a collaboration project
between TYR Group LLC and SAR Global Tool. All Mjölnirs are individually hand
crafted, and not one is the same.
Mjölnir (/ˈmjɒlnɪər/ or /ˈmjɒlnər/ MYOL-n(ee)r); means "crusher". In Norse mythology, Mjölnir is the hammer
of Thor, the Norse god of thunder. Distinctively shaped, Mjölnir is depicted in
Norse mythology as one of the most fearsome weapons, capable of leveling
mountains.
The TÝR arrow was the symbol of the warrior and was
inscribed on warriors weapons to bring them strength, protection and victory in
battle. The symbol also represented the values held by choosing the warrior
path such as duty, honor, integrity, discipline, responsibility, and
self-sacrifice."The first run was made in 440c each one is 100% hand made and each one is uniquely different. We ended up with around 30 for sale and they have been moving fast. John is wearing a very special Mjolnir made in Chad Nichols stainless steel Damascus. It is one of kind just like my Ranger buddy John!
Follow this link if you are interested in purchasing one Mjolnir description and purchase page
So get some while you can.
Other things are happening as well and I will go into them at a later date. I have been doing some more R&D on one of the "Last Ditch Designs". I have a few more things I want to explore to ensure everything is going to work out well for both the end user and me the builder. So I will just put some pictures up so you can see the design but I will omit any description at this time.
Also for now the last Inglorious Basterd has been sold, I will be building these when time permits and I feel the urge....I am not taking orders on this design.
Specs:
14" OAL 8" blade with false edge

Been working on some cool projects lately, and prototyping some new ideas with new materials.
I learned a few skills this summer working at my friends machine shop which have allowed me run my lathe better. The lathe is really nice it's a WEBCO from Germany, variable power feed and speed..
I have started a new device I have been wanting to get going for some time. I made the first one about six month ago. it was not until recently that I found the solution to the problem. So I have started to get the ball rolling and currently waiting on samples of material needed from a Texas based company. I have been making the current ones with off the shelf material here, but it's not good enough for this tool. I am not ready to let the cat out of the bag yet so this will be continued.

Monday pictures
Going try and update the blog on Mondays with some photo's and what will be in the works for the week. Things change so fast that it may not happen but I will give it my best.
"Last Ditch Knife" Designs!
I have a few designs that fall into this category, so I will promote it as such. Hope that helps with any confusion on ordering. My goal is to start filling the "Edged Tools" on my web page, and keeping the designs in stock.
First up is the "BOB" Bug out Blade"
A small knife designed to compliment your Bug out kit, so far I have made them in CPM D2 and 3V. Both straight and recurved. I added a new feature to the lanyard and its proved to be effective and added some function to the overall use of the design. Look for this knife in the coming weeks, as I lean forward to get some ready.
The above proto-type was done last year, the material is 6LA4V ti.

The next LDKD is called the Odd-Job. another small blade design packed with some muti-task features. Designed for a good friend over in the UK who runs a great site called OscarDelta SPD . Have a look at his site and some great hard to find gear. The Odd-Job has been made in CPM 154, CPM D2, 1095 and next run will be in 3V. It will also be dressed up in black dura coat and ready for hard use.
This batch in CPM 154 is at the Dura Coater getting dressed up! all but one will be heading over to OscarDelta SPD. I will be sending this design to Halpern Ti for water jet this week, I have no control on when they fit me in but they always take care of me!
The last design is the Survive/Escape which is a full size hard use knife. I am working on three at the moment and will put some pictures of the progress this week.
All right time to get going and talk with you guys later!

New Item SAR TRI-SIG
19JUL12 1500 hrs SOLD OUT Order has been placed for more so hang tight, these will be moving to my webpage as a regualr stock item SOLD OUT
SAR 2012
Folks without going into a big old explanation of where I was I will just say I am back in the shop with the intentions of staying there so now that we are over the tearful reunion I have a new item I would like to test run. Some of you are like "Dang dude build a knife" that is my focus but I wanted to get the ball rolling on this.....so just hang tight and see what happens.
ATTENTION order information is at the bottom, please read carefully and follow the simple instructions or be passed over simple as that.
SGT Triple Signal devise or TRI-SIG. A Active/Passive day and night signal device, NO Batteries required on you the signaler.
The base triangle is made from G10 which is pretty much a indestructible material explanation of FR-4 aka G10 and measures 2" across the bottom and up the sides. They come in two standard colors which are shown International Signal Orange and Black. If needed I can fulfill special color demands on custom orders for SAR units, LEO's, Firefighters, etc but will require you meet a certain a quota.
The front side features a 5/8 316 Stainless Steel washer that is highly polished and has good reflectabillity. (Same as the Moon Glow Micros).
On the back is a 1" disk of reflective tape available in various colors with a small inter disk of Glow in the dark MIL-SPEC lume tape (Cat Eyes)
Shown above is the SOLAS/Lume combo fixed to a life jacket via parachute cord
The Coast Guard approved SOLAS (Safety Of Life At Sea) is the most reflective and has the most candle power of all tapes offered on the current market. The colored Type III reflexite tape is to a lesser degree than SOLAS but is extremely effective as well. The 3M high gain is really great as well for those that require location possibilities during use with Night Vision goggles (NVG's) it will work with regular lighting but when luminated with a laser device is visible for miles. The MIL-SPEC lume tape has been in use by the military for as long as I can remember and is very effectictive and requires only to be charged up during daytime and will glow for hours during periods of limited visibility (Darkness)
For a tactical setting and lower vis option of Black is available, its a great background that does enhance the visibility of the tape more so than the orange.
Black version on chest rig attached with a 220 pound rated stainless steel screw gate clip that has been stonewashed to reduce glare and overall visibility.
Shown above with Orange Type III reflexite tape
The rest of the pictures are other consideration for placement on key items, use you imagination and you could find many applications for this device
